L-3 GCS Introduces Its Hawkeye™ III Drive-Away VSAT System
VICTOR, N.Y., October 26, 2017 - L3 GCS announced today that its Panther™ II VSAT is now available with one-touch auto-acquisition as well as iDirect's 950mp as a standard modem platform. Customers who purchase a new Panther II VSAT will have the option of an Auto-Acquire Kit (AAK), giving them the flexibility to switch between manual assisted satellite acquisition and one-touch auto-acquisition, depending on mission requirements.
The integration of the 950mp enables dual-purpose operation on both the iDirect Evolution® and iDirect Velocity® networks, allowing access to the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system and High-Throughput Satellites (HTS).
"The new Panther II was designed to give our customers modularity, versatility and ease of use in the field," said Charlie Daniels, President of L3 GCS. "It's therefore very exciting to add auto-acquisition and HTS access to the Panther II's capabilities."
